Late March freezes not as rare as you might think

The average low for this time of the year for North Carolina is 41 degrees, but it is not uncommon to see temperatures fall below 32 degrees. The final spring freeze typically occurs in early April, with the last two years seeing the final freeze before this date. Three times on record, the final freezing of the season also occurred in May.
