Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has issued a warning about phishing texts claiming to be from PennDOT threatening driving privileges or registration privileges. These texts are not authentic and should not be clicked on any links to reveal personal or financial information that could be used to steal customer identity or money. The Pennsylvania State Police has issued guidelines on protecting individuals from these scams, including never sharing personal information via email or text message. The PSP also advises victims to contact their local law enforcement agency and the Federal Trade Commission regarding these scams.
