The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) students at Virginia's Old Dominion University subdued and killed a former Army National Guard member, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, who had previously served eight years in prison for attempting to aid the Islamic State. The shooter had reportedly yelled "Allahu Akbar" before he began shooting, resulting in one person being killed and two being wounded. The students' bravery and courage prevented further deaths.
