Protesters are rallying against President Donald Trump's leadership in the Las Vegas Valley ahead of a major demonstration against him. The “No Kings” protest is expected to be larger than earlier protests, with demonstrators expected to take to the streets instead of sidewalks. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has issued a list of banned objects for protesters to avoid bringing, including wooden, metal, or plastic poles, baseball or softball bats, weapons; and glass bottles. Organizers have urged nonviolence and compliance with restrictions. University of the Pacific political science professor Keith Smith warned that large demonstrations can draw attention from supporters and counter-protesters, and potentially invite stronger law enforcement response.
