UFC’s Maycee Barber after brutal knockout, rear naked choke by Alexo Grasso: ‘I will be back’

Maycee Barber, a Colorado fighter, was knocked out of a rematch against Alexo Grasso in the first round of UFC Seattle due to a brutal knockout and a rear naked chokehold by Grasso. This defeat ended Barber's seven-bout win streak that began back to a loss to Grasso at UFC 258 in 2021. Barber had recently overcome medical issues, including a nine-day hospital stay in 2024 and a "pseudo-seizure" forced her to withdraw from a fight against Erin Blanchfield last summer. Other UFC fighters currently stand in their respective weight classes include Justin Gaethje, Cory Sandhagen, and Curtis Blaydes.
