Rowan University students are excavating artifacts left behind during the Battle of Red Bank in 1777 at the historic Red Bank Battlefield in Gloucester County, New Jersey. The students studying anthropology, archaeology, and history are searching for artifacts left during the battle. The hands-on excavation allows students to uncover history while preserving New Jersey's rich Revolutionary War heritage. The discovery helps tell the story of one of New Jersey’s most significant Revolutionary War sites.
