Gubad Ibadoghlu, a professor-activist and political activist from Azerbaijan, was arrested in Azerbaijan in July alongside his wife, Irada Bayramova, and facing a potential prison sentence of 12 years for counterfeiting charges. His son, Emin Bayramli, a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey, has been campaigning for his release following his arrest.
