China Box Office: ‘Michael’ Claims Top Spot During Another Sluggish Weekend

Universal's biographical drama "Michael" debuted at the top of the China box office during the April 24-26 weekend, earning RMB32.6 million ($4.8 million). With $217.3 million, it is also the No. 1 film in the world. The film, "It's OK," moved to second place in its fourth weekend, adding $1.7 million to bring its total to $26. 8 million. Horror-thriller "The Caged Butterfly" followed in third place, taking in $2.5 million. The overall box office was largely quiet as the market awaited the upcoming May Day holiday.
