The Weather Channel has released a new version of its iPhone and iPad weather app, Storm Radar, introducing a customizable AI weather presenter and much more. The app uses artificial intelligence to turn raw weather data into a formal weather presentation. Users can ask questions about the weather, or have it serve up a forecast that sounds like a news presenter. The personality and delivery are customizable, allowing users to create their own personal experiences. Other features include hyperlocal weather event notifications and additional types of weather event alerts like nearby lightning strikes during thunderstorms. The new app also includes smarter, real-time storm alerts and high-resolution single site radar.
