Ulster U20 Football Championship: O'Neill hails Tyrone 'character' in provincial success
Published on April 30, 2026.
Tyrone U20 coach Stephen O'Neill has praised his team's character in their recent victory in the Ulster U20 Football Championship. The Red Hands, who have won the last two All-Ireland titles, recovered from a slow start to the campaign and won against Cavan and Armagh, before progressing to the knockout phase and winning against Monaghan. This is the fourth provincial title at the U20 grade in five years for Paul Devlin's team. While O'Neil is in his first year working with the U 20s, this victory marks a third Ulster medal for team captain Conor Devlin. The team will now face either Kildare or Louth in an All-Irish semi-final on 13 May.
