Natasha Cloud landing with Chicago Sky after dumping Hailey Van Lith

Natasha Cloud, a former Liberty guard, has signed with the Chicago Sky, just four days before the WNBA season begins. The signing came after the team dismissed Hailey Van Lith, the No. 11 pick in last year's draft. The Sky traded draft picks to the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo ahead of the expansion draft to prevent any team from taking any of Chicago's unprotected players, including Van Lith. Despite rumours of Cloud rejecting at least one offer during free agency, Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb publicly backed her, stating that she belongs to the league. The team's need for a starting point guard while Courtney Vandersloot recovers from a knee injury.
