Rob Shuter's debut novel, It Started With a Whisper: A Novel Based on a Thousand Stories, is about four gossip columnists, one male, one female, and three women. While the characters in the book may be fictional, they have some real-life role models. Shuter describes working with Sean Combs, Jennifer Lopez, and Kate Spade as examples of successful female figures. Two more books are on the way and TV interest is already building on this first one.
