The Broncos have submitted their initial infrastructure master plan for Burnham Yard, a new stadium district at Burnham that sits on land once occupied by the Ute and Cheyenne tribes. The plan includes a proposed curved and expanded three-lane Eighth Avenue, which serves as a primary artery for flow into and out of the district. The community discussion heated over the potential expansion of Eighth Avenue into the stadium district, which could disrupt traffic to the historic La Alma Lincoln Park neighborhood. Some were supportive of the expansion, others were not. The initial submission of the plan shows the most detailed look yet at the organization’s plans for the Burnham development, including a proposed layout of several parking structures and a detailed breakdown of different areas. The stadium district will cover 150 acres, with the stadium expected to take up just 30 to 35 of these acres.
