Pinterest CEO, Bill Ready, has called for governments to ban social media for users under 16 in a Time op-ed, making him one of the few top CEOs to have called for such a restriction. He argues that children are being subjected to an "estheffective social experiment" as they have been given unfiltered access to social media, leading to increased rates of depression, anxiety, and decreased concentration skills. He praised Australia's social media ban for children and suggested that other governments should follow. This comes as nations are considering ways to limit children's online time and verify their ages.
