The first Atlas/Estadão poll since Fernando Haddad's formal entry into the São Paulo Governor contest has shown incumbent Governor Tarcísio de Freitas leading 49.1% to 42.6%, according to the survey. This gap narrows significantly from the 13-point lead Tarcisio held in a Datafolha survey published March 8. The poll surveyed 2,254 voters between March 24 and 27 and found that Tarcissio held between 48.4% and 49.4%, indicating his support is firm regardless of the opponent. Haddads was officially launched as PT’s candidate on March 19 and has received national media coverage and presidential backing. The race is seen as a proxy battle between the Lula and Bolsonaro camps for Brazil's largest electoral college, 34.4 million voters, and could consolidate the right's grip on Brazil's economic and position as the leading conservative governor for 2030.
