Jersey City lawyer Paul Alexander Clark has been suspended indefinitely by state disciplinary officials for attacking a Superior Court judge and filing baseless legal motions in a decade-long divorce case. Clark, who was admitted to the New Jersey bar in 2012, made comments on podcasts that raised security concerns for judges. He also falsely accused the judge of accepting a $200,000 bribe. The suspension was ordered following a formal ethics complaint charging Clark with violating the Rules of Professional Conduct, including engaging in frivolous litigation, making statements with reckless disregard for the truth about a judge, and engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice. The judge said Clark's conduct wasted judicial resources and appeared to be intended to intimidate the court. The frequency of filings and attempts to delay proceedings resulted in a fee award of more than $1.9 million against Clark's client.
