The World Endurance Championship (WEC) has postponed its season-opening race in Qatar due to the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran and the closure of airports in the region. The Qatar 1812km race had been scheduled for March 26-28 at the Lusail International Circuit outside Doha. The WEC's decision was made to ensure the safety and security of competitors, personnel, and fans. This is the first major motorsport event in the Middle East to be cancelled since the conflict erupted. The Six Hours of Imola will now begin the WEC season on April 17-19 at the Italian circuit.
