Cole Allen, the man charged with attempting to assassinate President Trump during the White House Correspondents' Dinner, has been removed from suicide watch or suicide precautions at his DC prison after a motion was filed by his defense lawyers. The defense argued that Allen had never shown any suicidal tendencies while in custody and that his placement on suicide watch and precautions constituted violations of his rights. Allen had reportedly been held under several levels of suicide watch since his arrest on April 25 and was under 24-hour lockdown procedures that required him to wear a vest and be strip-searched upon entry and exit. The conditions were allegedly put in place despite multiple assessments that found Allen was not a suicide risk.
