Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen has called for the resignation of Deputy Jacob Zamora, who was found with a stolen piece of weaponry in an Albuquerque murder case. The Albuquerque Police Department interviewed Zamora after the gun was found and he was questioned about keeping it on the floorboard without a case. Zamora was ultimately fired last week after only a year on the job. The incident occurred during the first homicide case of 2026.
