Cleveland's St. Patrick's Day parade is still on despite cold, gusty winds, and scattered snow showers across Northeast Ohio. The annual downtown tradition, which dates back to 1842 and is one of the oldest St.Patrick's Day parades in the country, typically goes on despite challenging March weather. Forecasters have predicted unseasonably cold air, strong west winds and snow showers throughout the day. The most significant lake-effect snow is expected to be centered east of Cleveland, but snow showers are possible downtown. While the weather may be harsh, history shows that the parade has rarely been canceled due to extreme cold weather or a blizzard. The event will be streamed live by TV20 on its YouTube and Facebook pages and air on Spectrum channel 1020 in Cleveland and AT&T U-Verse channel 99 across Ohio.
