New Mexico United is set to play its home opener against Colorado Springs, the only team in the league without a point, at 1 p.m. at Isotopes Stadium. The team has been struggling after losing their first two USL Championship games on the road. Coach Dennis Sanchez is hopeful his team will perform well in the upcoming match against local rival El Paso. The return of Cristian Nava, a forward who missed all of last season due to a knee injury, is also a welcome sign for the team. The game will be held at the Lab, with former fan favorite Talen Maples, who recorded seven goals for New Mexico last season.
