Inbound Liberty Tunnel to close overnight next week for roof replacement project

The inbound Liberty Tunnel in Pittsburgh will close overnight on Monday, April 6 for a roof replacement project. The work is part of a $3.47 million project to replace the portal roof and improve drainage within the tunnel. While the work will require future overnight closures, the inbound and outbound tunnels will not close simultaneously. Northbound traffic will be diverted through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. The overall project is expected to be completed in late 2026.
