Zachary Babitz has admitted to killing an 83-year-old man during a carjacking in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As part of a plea agreement, he will serve life in federal prison. Babitz had previously committed several armed robberies and carjackings across New Mexico and was arrested four days later in Las Cruces. The U.S. Attorney's Office had threatened the death penalty if Babitz was found guilty.
