Carson Benge makes Mets’ Opening Day roster as starting RF

New York Mets' No. 2 overall prospect, Carson Benge, has been named the Opening Day roster for the team and will be the starting right fielder for the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The announcement was confirmed by manager Carlos Mendoza after veteran outfielder Mike Tauchman suffered a torn meniscus. Benge had a successful season in New York's minor-league system and is expected to be the franchise's right fielder of the future. Other notable players include Juan Soto, Luis Robert Jr., and Tyrone Taylor, with Brett Baty offering utility services at multiple positions.
