The event has become a social currency after being announced in early April with the subject line: "Grindr's Hosting – WHCD Weekend Party." The invitation includes some of the country's most prominent media figures, including prominent LGBTQ+ politicians, Hill staffers, and allies. The party is set to take place on April 24 at a $9 million mansion in Georgetown. Since taking office, the Trump administration has pursued a sweeping anti-LGBTQ+ agenda, including efforts to end legal recognition of transgender and nonbinary people and expand the military ban on transgender service members.
