Fairfield Public Library To Host Ceremony For New Children's Mural

The Fairfield Public Library's Board of Trustees is hosting a dedication ceremony for a new mural at the Main Library, titled "Our Backyard," which was commissioned by the board to enhance the children's space and was completed in February. The work was created by Fairfield artist and illustrator MaryJo Scott and depicts an outdoor scene featuring flora and fauna native to the area. The mural was funded by the Lerchen Family Fund in honor of Margaret "Meg" Lerchend, a former children's librarian who worked at the library. The public event will be held at 2 p.m.
