The GTA Wiki, a fan-run information repository for Grand Theft Auto, has announced it is moving independent from Fandom, citing "a reportedly pro-AI CEO," "terrible" ads, and restrictive censorship policies as reasons for the decision. The move comes ahead of the launch of GTA 6 and joins a growing list of video game community wikis seeking alternate hosting due to similar complaints. The main complaint was the aggressive use of ads, which are often hidden when logged in, and the restrictive Community Creation Policy, which restricts offensive language and graphic media. Fandom also allows for community wiki editors to migrate content to new hosts, a feature many have used.
