Stranger Things: Tales From '85, a 10-episode spin-off of the show about the characters Eleven, Will, and Eleven, will be reunited in animated form. The showrunner, Eric Robles, revealed that he fell in love with the idea of introducing Nikki Baxter to the show, particularly in light of her alternative look that some fans believe doesn't fit into the show's small-town aesthetic. Robles suggested that Nikki could be a catalyst for Will's transformation in the show. He also mentioned that Nikki's friendship with Will (Ben Plessala), who defends him from a school bully, could help Will transition into adulthood and find the strength to stand up against big bad Vecna.
