The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a gala on June 12, bringing together artists, supporters, and community members. The event will also feature a Legacy Award for JBFC Founder Stephen Apkon, Director of Development Judy Exton, and David Swope Leadership Award. Proceeds from the event will benefit the JBCFC’s film, education, and artist programs. The Gala will be followed by a dynamic schedule of anniversary programming, including a tribute to documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman. Highlights include highlights from the JBGFC's Spring and Summer 2026 season. The 25th Anniversary Series will feature films originally screened when the Theater first opened in 2001, including The Vertical Ray of the Sun, Ghost World, Waking Life, The Devil's Backbone, and more. The Out There series, dedicated to Queer cinema, will continue year-round with monthly screenings and post-screening gatherings.
