Laurie Metcalf has not spoken to Roseanne Barr since she was fired from ABC in 2018 due to a series of controversial tweets. The pair had been involved in a relationship for nearly a decade and Metcelf, who starred on all nine seasons of "Roseanne" from 1988 to 1997, and reunited in 2018 when ABC ordered a revival of the hit sitcom. However, the series was canceled in May after Barr posted several controversial tweets, including one comparing former Barack Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett to an ape. Metcf and other stars, including John Goodman and Sara Gilbert, were invited to return for the rebranded "Roseannade" spin-off "The Conners".
