Apple wanted to buy Halide, co-founder lawsuit fight reveals

A lawsuit has revealed that Apple was close to acquiring Lux Optics, the developer of the Halide camera app for iOS, but the partnership between the cofounders, Ben Sandofsky and Sebastiaan de With, ended due to alleged misuse of company funds. The acquisition would have enabled Apple to upgrade the built-in camera app with advanced controls. However, the talks ended in September. Sandofski is suing de With over $150,000 in company funds, accusing him of using company funds to cover personal expenses. The lawsuit also alleges that de With has taken confidential information about future features with him to Apple.
