Slaton ISD is asking for more than $50 million in bonds for facility improvements, with one of the largest amounts at $51 million. The money would be used to build a new elementary school, more classrooms, safety and security upgrades and renovations. The second bond is $2.8 million for upgrades to the football stadium.
