Pollster Scott Rasmussen has warned that if economic confidence continues to remain at its current levels, the Republican Party may lose control of both chambers of Congress in November's midterms. Rasmussen, considered Republican-leaning, attributed low economic confidence to President Donald Trump's war in Iran, which is causing fuel prices to rise. He warned that the GOP would lose control if voters' pessimism about their personal finances does not improve. Less than a quarter, 24 percent of U.S. registered voters said their personal financial situation is improving, a decrease of five percentage points in the past two weeks, according to a Napolitan News Service poll conducted by Rasmussen. If gas prices continue to increase, this will be a significant drag on Republicans across the country.
