Bottom of the lineup comes up big for Coal City baseball in win over Wilmington

Coal City baseball player Bobby Rodriguez played a key role in a 4-3 win over Wilmington in the Illinois Central Eight opener for both teams. Despite not playing an inning of varsity baseball last season, Rodriguez made a significant impact in the team's victory. He started and batted eighth for the Coalers against one of the top pitchers in the area, Cooper Holman of Wilmington, and came through with a key hit. The win was attributed to Rodriguez's offseason work and the team’s ability to push each other to perform better. Winning pitcher Lance Cuddy also contributed to the win.
