The 11th arrest has been made in relation to allegations of modern slavery by members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in Crewe, England. The alleged offences, which included forced marriage and modern slavery, were reported to have taken place in 2023. The arrest, on suspicion of human trafficking, was linked to allegations reported to police in March. The religious group has been based at its headquarters in Gloucesbury for about five years. An interim anti-slavery and trafficking order was granted against four men and one woman initially detained in the investigation on 1 May. An additional 25 people were charged with public order offences following raids involving over 500 police officers on 29 April.
