Finding sexual and reproductive health and rights facts fast: a new AI-powered tool
Published on April 23, 2026.
A new AI-powered tool, ChatHRP, has been launched for beta-testing to help policy-makers, experts, and health workers find sexual and reproductive health and rights facts quickly. The tool responds to queries with verified information from research and guidance from the World Health Organization. It uses advanced natural language processing and retrieval‑augmented generation to connect users with precise, referenced content in real time. The multilingual capabilities and low-bandwidth functionality ensure its usability around the world, even in low-denial settings. The platform is designed to reduce time spent searching through long PDFs or navigating multiple platforms. It also provides an efficient way to efficiently verify information needed for rights-based campaigns. The project was funded by Global Affairs Canada through the UNDP/UNFPA/UNICEF/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction.
