Makers of unreleased Nicolas Cage movie sue Netflix for $105 million after theft of film

A new lawsuit has been filed by Simon Afram and Op-Fortitude, alleging that Netflix lost a copy of the unreleased Nicolas Cage movie, Fortitude, which was given to the streaming company to consider whether to buy it. The complaint alleges that the loss of the film could cause insurance issues and lower the film's price. Afram claims that Netflix employees were informed that the hard drive the movie was on was not encrypted and that they should delete the files on it afterwards. Netflix disputes these claims, stating it takes content security measures and offers to monitor known piracy sites for unauthorized distribution or sale.
