Goodman, the Rockies' All-Star Game representative last year, has been a standout player in the ABS challenge system, winning 20-for-26, or 76.9 percent, in the first year of the system. This performance came in a 9-1 defeat to the Rockies, with the team's batting slump resulting in a two-run homer and a loss to Chris Sale. Goodman credits his success to his watchful eye from behind the plate for winning the challenge. He also threw out Ozzie Albies on a steal attempt in the sixth inning due to improved performance from Chase Dollander, who has improved his deliveries to the plate this year. Goodman is currently tied with Mickey Moniak for the club's home home run with nine.
