Sycamore junior Quinn Carrier was named the Daily Chronicle 2026 Girls Basketball Player of the Year. She led the team to a regional title and a win over Burlington Central in the Class 3A Sycamore Regional championship. Despite a difficult season, Carrier found success this year, learning to do less and trust her teammates more. The Spartans went 23-11 this year and reclaimed the Interstate 8 title from Kaneland. They also won a regional for the ninth time since the 2013-2014 season. Carrier was first or second on the team in all major statistical categories.
