New York City is reporting hundreds of cyclosporiasis cases, a disease caused by a parasite that causes diarrhea and other stomach issues. The state and city health department are investigating an increase in cases. In the city alone, there have been 381 cases reported this year, a three-fold increase from the previous year. Cyclosporia is a parasitic infection that affects the intestines and spreads through food or drinking water contaminated by human feces. The disease can last up to a month if untreated, and symptoms may recur after a person feels better.
