A new app aims to reduce the time of speech therapy assessments for bilingual students in Tucson, Arizona, by helping pathologists assess students in 15 minutes. The app, named "Flip-Task," asks questions in Spanish and English before providing a fluency rating and can be used to determine a student's language development without needing to know Spanish. The company recently won $2,500 from the University of Arizona Center for Innovation. It is hoped that the app will be available in the next six weeks.
