The Subaru Solterra, a 2027 Subaru Solerra EV SUV, was co-developed with the identical Toyota bZ and replaces the brand's characteristic horizontally opposed boxer gasoline engine with an electric powertrain. The Solterras have a compact footprint, a straightforward interior, ample passenger and cargo room, and a unique front and rear fascias. Dual-motors provide standard all-wheel-drive, and two levels of tune are available: the base 233-hp or the speedy 338-horsepower XT trim. The standard dual-motor powertrain produces 233 horsepower, but the XT increases output up to 338 horsepower. All models feature off-road enabling software, including Subie's X-MODE all-Wheel drive system and Grip Control. The vehicle's price is $1,800. The EPA rates the Solteras to deliver 288 miles of range in base form, and 278 miles in the more powerful XT model.
