Victory Wembanyama, who won Rookie of the Year two years ago and was expected to be Defensive Player of Year last season, is making a case for the MVP. He argues that his defense is undervalued in the MVP race and that his impactful performance is more than justifiable. The Spurs coach, Mitch Johnson, also believes Wempy, who has been praised for his defensive impact, is close to the top of the list. The team is currently 54-18 and likely to be the No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the Western Conference if they make it to the NBA Finals.
