New Britain announces $13M for education amid funding deficit

The New Britain mayor and legislative delegation have announced an additional $13.3 million in education funding for the city's public schools. This follows a nearly $19 million deficit that led to the potential closure of Northend Elementary School and potentially potentially jeopardizing 49 non-tenured teaching positions. The additional funding comes after Gov. Ned Lamont announced $270 million will be distributed to Connecticut public school districts.
