Frazional Raw Farm, a prominent raw milk dairy in Fresno, California, is under investigation by the FDA for possible E. coli contamination from its cheddar cheese, which has been linked to nine illnesses, five of whom were children under five years old. The FDA has warned people not to eat Raw Farm-brand cheddar cheeses. The owner, Mark McAfee, has denied allegations that his unpasteurized cheddar Cheese from his farm caused the illnesses. He calls his refusal to voluntarily recall cheddar cheddar a "pivotal moment" for raw cheese. McAfee claims there is no link between his cheese and the illnesses and that of 14,000 tests done at his facility since September 2025, none of these have returned positive for E.col.
