Tourists from around the country arrive in Juneau, marking the start of tourism season

The MS Eurodam, the first cruise ship of the year to dock in Juneau, has marked the start of tourism season in the 49th State, marking the beginning of the season. The city and borough of Juneau are heavily dependent on tourism, which accounts for a significant portion of the revenue they generate each year. The cruise industry spent about $375 million in Junea, bringing in 3,850 jobs and generating about $22 million in cruise-related fees. The arrival of the cruise ship marks the start to the tourism season.
