Apple has released iOS 26.4, adding 13 new features and improvements to its software, including age verification for UK users. This was accidentally launched in a previous beta but is now official. The UK's Online Safety Act requires tech companies to verify users' ages before providing unrestricted access to all content. Since some apps in the App Store are designed for 18+, Apple is required to perform age verification to provide unrestricted access. Ofcom, the regulator overseeing TV, radio, internet, phone, and mobile services, has welcomed the launch of age verification within the UK.
