When Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. merge, the combined entity will have a strong slate of films, including DC superhero fare, a Minecraft sequel, another Sonic the Hedgehog film, and new entrants from The Lord of the Rings universe. However, they will be missing from an animated film slate that could compete with Disney and Universal. Since 2016, Paramount and Warner Brothers have each released eight animated features, with Paramount generating $1.1 billion in global ticket sales and Warner estimating $ 1.3 billion. Only one Paramount animated film has generated over $200 million globally, "Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie," and only one Warner Bros.'s animated title has scored over $300 million globally. The combined entity is still awaiting regulatory approval.
