Torrey Pines High School and Canyon Crest Academy won the CIF San Diego Section Open Division boys championship, beating each other 10-8 in a match that lasted nearly four hours. The victory was significant as it was the third time the two teams had met this year. The win was in Jan Guevara's first season as head coach, and since the Open Division was created in 2015, either Torrey Pine or CCA has won every Open title. The Falcons have now won seven Open crowns to CCA's three. In the individual tournament, freshman Ryan Valencia will partner with teammate Adrien Abarca to form the No. 1 seeded doubles team for the next week's individual tournament.
