Christopher Clark, former mayor of Harvey, died at age 56 from an undisclosed illness. Over 200 people gathered to celebrate his life at the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Harvey. His daughters initially rejected the idea of him running for office, but he convinced them when he said it was his "calling from God". Clark was mayor for six years and faced issues such as a financial situation that resulted in more than 40% of the city’s workforce being furloughed indefinitely. His legacy included teaching his daughters how to play tennis, drive and changing a tire. There will be an election in 2027 to replace Clark.
